1 in 4 New U.S. Businesses Is Latino-Owned
The numbers don't lie: nearly one in four new businesses in the United States is now Hispanic-owned, making Latino entrepreneurs the fastest-growing segment of American small business. Between 2017 and 2022, Latino-owned employer businesses grew at an average annual rate of 7.7%, compared to just 0.46% for businesses overall. Collectively, they employ approximately 3.5 million people and generate more than $650 billion in annual revenue.
The hustle is showing up everywhere. In February, UNLV launched a Spanish-language business incubator to help Latino entrepreneurs get licensed and turn ideas into sustainable operations, addressing a gap that program graduates say made the process more accessible in their native language. Stanford's annual State of Latino Entrepreneurship summit continues to track the explosive growth, while organizations across the country are building infrastructure to support what's becoming one of the most powerful economic engines in the nation. When we say "Hustle Hard," this is what it looks like in real life.
