Dine Latino Week, 26 Restaurants Deep: The Hustle Is on the Plate
From April 5th through the 11th, the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is running Dine Latino Restaurant Week, spotlighting 26 Latino-owned and operated restaurants across Philly and the surrounding counties. It’s the kind of event that puts numbers behind what the community already knows: Latino-owned businesses aren’t just surviving in America — they’re running the show.
The stats back it up. Nearly one in four new U.S. businesses is now Hispanic-owned. Between 2017 and 2022, Latino-owned businesses grew at an average annual rate of 7.7%, compared to less than half a percent for businesses overall. That’s not a trend. That’s a movement. From the corner restaurant that started with a family recipe to the food truck that turned into a brick-and-mortar to the catering company that now feeds weddings across the tri-state — this is entrepreneurship in its purest form. No VC. No pitch decks. Just talent, sweat, and a community that shows up.
Events like Dine Latino don’t just celebrate food. They celebrate the engine behind it: people who took a risk, poured everything into their craft, and built something from the ground up. That’s the THSN DNA. That’s the “Hustle Hard” mindset on a plate. Support the businesses in your neighborhood. Eat well. Tip big. The hustle is real, and it tastes incredible.
